Welcome to the official site of Jim Morris, The Overseer (over you).

Hello, I am Jim Morris, bassist for the incomparable Wudan Warriors. The highlights of this site will include news about Wudan's upcoming shows, album/movie/concert reviews, general information about bassists and bass playing, and just about anything else I deem worthy of my site. For information regarding The Wudan Warriors, please visit the What's New page.

Bass Information

My Ill Mad Nasty Bass Rig

This is the gear I currently use on a regular basis:

Rickenbacker 4003 "Blue Ox"  The Rick is the cornerstone of my rig.  I named it Blue Ox in honor of the greatest of all bassists, John "The Ox" Entwistle. The bass has undergone a number of modifications over the years in order to better suit my needs.  These include a mirrored plexiglas pickup plate, a custom-installed Seymour Duncan humbucker, and a Badass I bridge.  I also had one of the body cavities filled with a maple block to increase the fullness of the tone.  I use Rotosound 66 Swing Bass strings because they are the best and also the cheapest.

Ampeg SVT-3PRO "The Liberator" - 450 watt, tube/solid hybrid amplifier.  It is called The Liberator because that is the type of plane my grandfather flew in WWII.

Avatar B410 Kappa Pro - 4 ohm bass cabinet

Fender Standard Fretless Jazz bass

Fender Rumble 100 - 100 watt, solid state amplifier

Monster Bass Cables

Boss TU-2 Tuner Pedal

Boss ODB-3 Bass Overdrive Pedal

Be it known that Bill Killey is The Man.

MOESCHEN.  Enough said.

Many thanks to Brian Kellett for his help and advice on matters relating to electric instruments and amplification.

Thanks also to Ted Sirois, luthier extraordinaire, for his ever-skillful and friendly service.
